The Shed House are experts when it comes to the Sunshine Coast Council's building rules and regulations. When building a Granny Flat in the Sunshine Coast region in the Rural or Rural Residential zone, there is 90m² total GFA allowable. For all other zones it is a 60m² total GFA allowable. In addition, you are required to provide one on-site car park, plus the number already required for the existing dwelling. There are site setbacks to adhere to - but will differ from address to address. We encourage you to take a read through the current planning scheme here. If you had site specific questions, we are happy to talk you through these issues. We do provide free estimates and will put together your very own site report.
